It's a new school year in Montgomery County. Families are shopping for supplies to start a new year of learning. It's also time to support the students learning music through the Tacy Foundation!
Even a small gift can make a big difference. For just $7 you can provide a music book for a young musician in the Guitar Pals program. This initiative allows children from Title I Schools to learn to play music. For some students, the Piano and Guitar Pals may be their one chance to learn to play an instrument, something that rewards an entire lifetime.
In addition, the Tacy Foundation is looking for support to give two schools keyboards. If we reach our funding goals, we will be able to provide both schools with two keyboards, giving even more students an opportunity to develop musical talent.
The foundation continues to make CDs of the talented students who provide healing through music. The goal is to send the Hopkins Infusion Center in Taiwan 2,000 CDs at $10 each.
Students will also be performing for veterans at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Baltimore in late fall. They need a good drivers to help them with transportation.
